Web-mistress of 15-year-old Katie's Tomb Raider, Katie Fleming, introduces "In the Dark" (McCree)
Congratulations to fellow official Tomb Raider fansite Katie's Tomb Raider for reaching the milestone of its 15th birthday! Luckily for us, web-mistress Katie Fleming has been in cahoots with original Tomb Raider composer Nathan McCree to mark the occasion by releasing a musical treat for the fans (above).
McCree today releases "In the Dark" - a track the composer "wrote in 2001 which [he] thought would be good for a Tomb Raider project". The piece premières via Katie Fleming's YouTube channel. The composer left Core Design after completing Tomb Raider II (1997), but was hired freelance to continue music development for Tomb Raider III: The Adventures of Lara Croft (1998). Nathan McCree in fact interviewed Peter Connelly as his replacement for Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation (1999).
MoTR had the pleasure of interviewing Nathan in December via Video Game Music Online, where he teased the proper release of his original works. The composer is next set to appear in video game music documentary BEEP alongside Peter Connelly & Wilbert Roget, II. We have reached out to McCree for an elaborative on the new piece "In the Dark", stay tuned! Full report at Stella's Tomb Raider Blog.
