Tomb Raider: 30th Anniversary Lo-Fi Collection album released

To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Tomb Raider franchise, long-standing community member Amanda Rostykus under the pseudoynm thatnorskchick contributes an officially published Tomb Raider: 30th Anniversary Lo-Fi Collection. The album is 52 minutes of lo-fi arrangements of newly produced remixes, sampling music from the original Tomb Raider video games and featuring voice samples performed by Alix Wilton Regan - the new voice actress for the upcoming Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (2027) & Tomb Raider: Cataylst (2028) - who recorded iconic Lara Croft lines specially for this collection.
"Created in celebration of 30 years of Tomb Raider, this special lo-fi album was produced through a collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and longtime Tomb Raider community musician That Norsk Chick and artist Tholia. Inspired by three decades of Lara Croft's adventures, the collection journeys through the Classic era, the Legend, Anniversary & Underworld trilogy, and the Survivor trilogy, reimagining iconic themes and musical moments in a relaxed lo-fi style.
This collection contains new lo-fi arrangements and remixes based on original Tomb Raider music composed by: Nathan McCree, Peter Connelly, Martin Iveson, Troels B. Folmann, Colin O'Malley, Jason Graves, Bobby Tahouri, Brian D'Oliveira, Wilbert Roget, II & Paul Houseman."
With original artwork and animation by Tholia, the Lo-Fi Collection debuts on YouTube but should be arriving on all good music streaming services and digital storefronts as distribution rolls out. Full track listing after the jump below. Rostykus is further interviewed on her production process:

"My goal with this album was to capture the soul and the vibe of each game," explains That Norse Chick. "Stylistically, lo-fi hip hop is the main foundation for this album, but I don't let that stop me from exploring because this is Tomb Raider. We're going to explore stuff. "

"My process comes from the same techniques that they use to sample music in hip hop," she continues. "I'll start with a track from the game, grab a little segment of it that I think is interesting, chop it up, create a loop, and then I let that loop guide me the rest of the way. What does the track need? What kind of drums is it going to want? What happens if I take the choirs form this game and mix it with the harps from this other game? Sometimes I'll beef up a melody by adding guitar or piano over it." After blocking out the composition, she then goes back and samples sound effects, voice clips, and ambient tracks for extra atmosphere.

Norsk aims to take the listener on a journey through Lara's life, opening with the Survivor trilogy, venturing through the classic Core Design titles, moving on to Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Underworld, followed by a tribute to Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. The album closes with Tomb Raider: Anniversary. " I feel like it represents Croft Manor. You know, coming back home, it's like a full circle moment" concludes Norsk.
